I am having serious issues with my HR10. I have been geting frequent satellite dropouts on satellite 1, 2 or both throughout the day I was actually getting these errors on my hr20 as well, but they seem to have stopped. They started happening around the time of the hr20 install which led me to believe it was a problem with the multiswitch.I had a tech come out to replace it and it is actally worse. The tech says its a problem with the hr10 so he ordered me a new one (probably end up with another h20), but I can't see how it is a prob with the box as the hr20 has done the same thing.
Anyone have any ideas?
I've been getting the "searching for satellite" message intermittently for the past few weeks on both my HR10 and HR20, but only on the HD channels 70-79 & 83 (NBCW-HD). I've lost recordings on HBO-HD, SHO-HD, TNT-HD, and NBCW-HD. All of these are on the 119 sat. It was becoming more frequent, so on Friday I called DirecTV to schedule a service call.
I have the AT9 dish with the Zinwell 6x8 multiswitch and everything has been working great with a strong signal on all sats. The tech arrived this AM and of course all of the channels are coming in perfectly. The signal strength on both DVRs is showing in the 90's for the 119 sat. The tech says to call back if it happens again and he'll replace the dish and Zinwell 6x8 multiswitch. He heads out the door.
A couple of minutes later, I start to get pixelation, so I run out hoping I can catch him. He's sitting in his truck on a phone call, so he comes back in. Pixelation is happening infrequently, but we can't duplicate the "searching..." message, so again he says to call back if the problem re-occurs. I called back and now I'm waiting for a tech supervisor to call me back.

Just tolet you all know: I received my replacement receiver today and low and behold, a brand spankin new hr10! Anyways, I have not yet hooked it up as I'm positive my problem is not hardware related. So I don't know if it has 3.1 or 6.2 on it. Allegidly I have to send my old receiver back. I wish I could keep it (and sell the new one) c'est domage...
So, noone has any other ideas what could be wrong, eh?
