I recently had to get my first tivo repaired by philips. When I received it back and went through the set up it only shows channels in the two diget mode even though it is set for the three degit mode, after six attempts by me with Philips on tne phone it still won't connect. When three digits are input it only reads the last two. This is on a Comcast system in Georgia. If the Comcast controler is used it will change to any channel. In an aside my wife came in to the room it is in with her series2 controller and it would go to any channel ( whats up with that) but it couldn't turn on or change volumn.

One last thing... I have not tried to set up a recording for three digit channels since the controler wouldn.t manually change them. I'll try that tonight if it does I can live with it not changing manually.

Have you confirmed that you have three digit channels in your channel list? It sounds like you've either chosen a lineup with only two digits (Basic, Rebuild Basic instead of an extended or digital lineup) or you need to go through IR setup again to set up for 3 digits.

Yes, I have three digit line up and it is selected.

Then it sounds like your IR is not set up properly. What make/model set top box are you using? Which IR code did you choose? Did you set the Enter Key (yes/no) properly?

Make sure the emitters are centered on the set top box's sensor and sticking out as far as possible. Make sure the purple emitter plug is in the IR port, not the serial port. If it's unplugged, the set top box will only be receiving a reflected IR signal that is sent from the front of the DVR's bezel (only S1 units did this).
