First off, let me say how happy I am to have found this site. I have been pouring over the FAQs and many threads now for the past couple of hours and have learned a lot of very useful things. It seems that the members are a friendly bunch of people who very willingly share their expertise. I hope that my simple questions have not been answered in other threads. I've tried a number of searches but have not been able to get an answer to my specific problem. If someone would be able to give me a solution or perhaps point me to a thread I may have missed in my earlier searches, I'd be most appreciative.

To business:

I'm trying to transfer some non-HD, non-PPV content from my HR10-250 to DVD using a Panasonic DMR E-30 unit. I have a component output directly to my TV from the HR10-250 and I've also made a direct standard connection from the DVR to one of the line inputs on the DVD burner. I originally tried to route the connection through my A/V receiver (an Onkyo TX-DS787) for ease of switching, but this did not work. Using the direct connection from DVR to burner, the audio signal will transfer and record, but the video signal will not come through. From what I can see looking at suggested hook-up diagrams which correspond to my situation, this should work, so I'm a bit puzzled at this point.

A second, unrelated question - can I use my PC to access this particular DVR via a wireless network connection to watch programs on a desktop or laptop? Pointers to any relevant threads would be wonderful.

Many thanks

Russell

You have to switch the output of the HR10-250 to 480i for video to output through the composite outputs.

As for your second question, check the "underground" section of the forum. It is possible, but you have to open the box, pull the disk and add custom software.

Thanks for the input, guys! Lowering the res worked like a charm - I'm in business now.

I read a little about the wireless in the underground section - clearly an ambitious undertaking. I'm going to have to do a lot more homework on this one before I'll be comfortable with modding my unit.

Thanks again! :D
