Has anyone had a conflict when using a home audio receiver with HDMI inlet/outlet with the HR10-250?
I've read reviews of some high end receiver's with people taking them back because of HDMI not being processed through receiver, showing source as not being HDMI complient. Which is not the receiver, but the manuf. of the DVR/ Cable or Sat. boxes not following through with the HDCP regs. when installing HD processors.
I have been doing a fair amount of research and it seems the TiVo Series 3 is the culpret when a show being viewed has a "Copy Never" flag marked. If this is the case, the TiVo refuses the HDMI connection because of HDCP.
It is a known case with the JVC RX-D702 which I was going to purchase until I read the review from C-Net and the editor's note regarding the TiVo 3.
My search continues for something compatible. Don't want to get saddled with something I cannot use.
Something else to keep in mind is the difference between HDMI 1.0 and 1.1.
HDMI v1.0 ports will only passthrough Video (not audio)
HDMI v1.1 ports will passthrough both Video and Audio

Then this might help. I bought that exact amp 8 months ago, and it has passed HR10 audio on HDMI from day one. Early models did have that problem. The AVS forum did mention something about a firmware upgrade to v1.1 slightly prior to my purchase.
I can't recommend the D702 or D401 enough, mine is one of the most satisfying purchases I ever made. "Midnite Mode" levels the audio out perfectly, too.
Now an S3? I guess that might have a HDCP issue, but I doubt it has a problem passing audio over HDMI through a D702.
