I have spent hours on this thread and I think I have found the problem that I just started to have. Please comment if you have suggestions..

I have had the LVM-42W2 ver. 1.0 for 5 days. Yesterday while the set was on and I was out of the room the screen had an intermittent white flashing (against the black background). Probably one second intervals. I have the tv hooked up to the Directv HD Tivo via HDMI. I am almost certain it is the dreaded HDMI issue with the HD Tivo for the following reasons.

1) Even after I unplugged the tv, the problem exists
2) When I plug my samsung 940 dvd DVI to DVI to the tv it works fine, while the HD tivo problem still exists
3) when I plug hdmi HD Tivo to the TV DVI (1 or 2) the problem still exists. The tv eventually locked the input changer.
4) When I reset the HD Tivo, everything is fine, until it goes out again.

this has just recently happened again this morning and I have not tried more tests such as hooking up component and/or hooking up my HR20, instead of the Hr250 (HD Tivo). I have the HD TIVO in bedroom and living room, with a spare HR20 in the living room also hooked up. I really like this tv, and am hoping it is just the HD tivo (trying to stay optimistic until I have had a chance to check all variables before I return it.)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.....thanks

Bob, it's an HR10 (with a 250GB drive), not an HR250... so it's an HR10-250, or an HR10. (Like the HR20 is an HR20-700...)

Okay, having clarified that, I doubt it's the classic HDMI issue, since that one is a blown card, and it doesn't reset when you reset the HR10. You could have an issue with the HR10 not syncing with the TV, but this is a bit strange. Could be a bad cable, or a strange issue with the HR10.

I'd definitely try one of the HR20s. You need to eliminate the DVR and the cable, and see that it's not the TV. So, I hope you have more than one HMDI -> DVI cable (do HR20s come with one? I have no idea... :) ).

Let us know how the swapping-out goes!

(Um, you said "you spent hours on this thread..."; Did you mean to post in another thread, and not create a new one? :) )

Thanks for the reply,

Yes, I did mess up the posting as I was in a hurry and I have no Idea why I called it a hr250

My first action was to try component cables and it worked. the picture quality was equal to the hdmi to hdmi. When I swapped the hr20 with hdmi cables it also worked without issue. I feel that the hdmi picture is better than component on the hr20, but equal on the hr10, just my observation with my tv.
