I have a 32" Sony Triniton in my bedroom that I recently hooked to the HR10-250. I don't have the original Sony Triniton remote. How do I get the Tivo remote to program the Triniton?
By the way, I got a free HR20-700S from D*. I am also keeping the HR10-250 (I paid $999 for it when it first came out). D* is coming out next week to install the 5-LNB dish for free. I will have to pay the $19.95 s/h for the dish. I tried to go half on the s/h but no go. I think this is a pretty good deal.
Thanks.

"Messages & Setup" -> "Settings" -> "Remote Control"
Chose the device/functions you want to control. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to highlight your TV's brand (Sony) and you'll see the required 4-digit code.
Point the Tivo remote away from your HR10-250. Press and hold the "TV PWR" and "DIRECTV" buttons simultaneously for ~5-seconds until the red light at the end of the remote lights up and stays on when you release the buttons.
Use the remote's number buttons to enter the 4-digit code for your Sony TV. After you press the 4th digit the remote's red light should flash. Point the remote at your TV and test the button (e.g. Power). If it doesn't work, try the next 4-digit code.
These steps can be found on pp 111-112 in the HR10-250 User's Manual. If you don't have yours you can download a copy from DirecTV's web site.

Thank you!
I had read the same direction in the manual. But stupid me thought "TV Power" was on the Sony Trinition remote.
Thanks again for your quick response and expertise.
