Like everyone else here, I've been having audio dropouts on my OTA HD channels since the 6.3 update. I finally got fed up today and called DirecTV to complain. The CS rep told me that there was an update released on 11/23 that fixed this problem, so they weren't going to offer me a credit for my troubles...as I sat there and watched the audio drop 3 times while I was on the phone.
Has anyone gotten this update? If so, did it fix the problem?

There was an update for the HR20-700 released on 11/22 according to a thread on dbstalk.com
I haven't seen any update on my HR10-250.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the CSR did not know what they were talking about.

That happens so rarely though.

Well, I had some drop outs today on Fox, so if there was, it passed me by.
That said, I think smimi10's 3rd sentence summed it up.

MY CSR in tech support today indicated that there would PROBABLY be an update within a month to fix the problem.

It was bad enough when they didn't know anything about *one* HD DVR and its software releases/bug list. Now they have two to not keep straight! :D

I spoke with an Level 2 tech for about an hour regarding the dropouts, patial recordings and reboots. He told me a software fix was coming out on 11/22 to fix the problems.
I questioned him several times about whether it was for the HR10-250 OTA problems. He said yes.He gave me a number of the software patch(OXF6).I found out the next day that the patch is for the HR20-700.
These "top techs" are boobs. They know nothing. They are not tecnicians. They read from scripts. They continue to offer false hope with the "disable Dolby Digital" or "do a hard reboot" or a "clear and delete".None of these work.
The jerk "built an escalation" and told me a local tech would be out with 2 replacement HR10-250s with the old software. No one showed up,so I called the dealer. He said they would need to "build a service call"....not "build an escalation".So I'll have to call D* and go through all this crap again.

And he'll probably be out with two 'replacement' HR20s....

You're probably right.....2 HR20s in a market where the HR20 isn't functional yet........I'd love for that to happen!

Classic "Peter principle" at work. Anyone in tech support with anything on the ball is a candidate for a better job. Smart tech support guys leave quickly for greener pastures, while the dummies are compelled to stay behind. Eventually 98% of them are just the dummies left behind.
