Save to Apple Mac?

Can I save recorded shows to an Apple Mac like you can save to VCR?
There's alot of things out there for connecting to a Mac, but it looks like only recording live shows or hacking my HR10-250 which I do not want to do.

I have saved shows to my Mac using the Canopus digital conversion unit to iMovie, where I can then edit out commercials and burn to DVD.
