I have Yahoo DSL and if you want to tell tivo to record a show, you can....but not if you have direct tv tivo.
Is there a way around this, or does it mean that I can never use this service? I am new to all of this.
Thanks,
Ellie

I believe that you can never use this service. Look in the Underground section here. You can use TWP and record remotely. Not nearly as user friendly to set up, I imagine, but just as useful (for remote recording).

none of Yahoo's tivo scheduling features will work on a DirectiVo. Tivoweb works very well though.
In order to use Tivoweb you have to open up the tivo and hack the hard drive with a tool like "the Zipper" or PTVupgrade's ptvnet.

Check out slingbox. And it will let you watch the tivo remotely, which is cool.
