Hi all,

I am very interested in upgrading my lifetime Series 2 to a Series 3. It's a pretty expensive investment to make for making TV more enjoyable, and I was hoping that there might be some good post-Thanksgiving deals that would help give me the motivation to make the jump. :)

I know price talk is discouraged on the forums, and perhaps we can just keep this to suggestions on where to look. Right now the TC Store and Weaknees deals are the best deals going. Are those our best holiday shopping options?

Thanks in advance!

- Chris

i'm not sure if this will help you, but the best buy i went to had (small) signs that you could get $100 or $250 off a series 3 tivo with the purchase of a 37" or larger television (the latter, larger amount would be with the purchase of an installation). alas, the best buy store i was in did not (and has not ever) had any series 3's. both the s3 and hdtv were supposed to be on the same receipt (i would have bought the series 3 for pick-up at another best buy, but i was told before i got to the checkout that the $250 rebate didn't apply).

also, about a day or two ago i checked best buy and i should have been eligible for $200 or $300 off a 37" or larger HDTV with installation (the latter price was if you upgraded to high definition cable). i was told by the same customer service representative while standing in line that those rebates no longer apply (they are gone now?). so is best buy -- after all their advertising -- no longer hd done right?

I ended up going with a Series 3 from Weaknees, since they have been solid supporters of our community. The promotion and gift certificate didn't hurt either. ;)
