Video Switching

I have my S3 set-up (waiting for the cable guy right now to bring the cards). I have noticed that when I move from the TiVo screens to broadcast video that the screen resolution seems to switch. I am sure this is because the TiVo outputs 1080i for its own screens and 480i when I switch to broadcast video and stuff in Now Playing. My question is: does it hurt my TV to constantly switch between video modes? I have video output on (I THINK) 1080i Hybrid.

Dunno if it hurts it but I found it as anoying has heck (with the blackening of the screen for a second or two between switching). So, I switched mine to 1080i fixed a couple of weeks ago and have been much happier!

No it doesn't hurt, but it is annoying as #$%@.

+1 on the switch to 1080fixed.

so perhaps I will go with 1080i fixed then! it does not seem to alter the picture at all.
