Does a cable card in a TV Change channels fast ?
Not me, but some in my house need to channel surf (dont ask me why??)
Is the time it takes my S3 to change channels a hardware or software problem?
Is there a chance future updates will speed up TiVo's changing live channels ?
Thanks!!
I really LOVE my 750 G Tivo S3 :-)

I have a TV with a CableCard, but no S3 TiVo to compare channel changing speeds. The TV channel changing is slightly slower than a traditional analog tuner, but it's not intolerable or annoying.
It's definitely lots faster than watching through a standard def TiVo that has to change channels on the cbale box through a serial port.

Added a CC to my Sony Bravia LCD TV. With a digital lineup now, all my former analog channels are remapped to the equivalent digital version. CC adds a slight pause in surfing to channels vs analog only (no CC). Acceptable, but definitely a noticable difference. But still much better than surfing using my S3 tuner. I don't recommend surfing using the S3 tuners if you are used to analog surfing.

Thanks, I'll leave the house surfers to the limited analog channels. My HD TV switches them instantly. Me, I only 'surf' the great TiVo guide, for what I'll watch later.
