Hi,
Just got my S3. Cox can't install CableCards for 3 days. I was wondering if there is any way to use the SA8300HD I currently have (unfortunatly I have to give it back, would be great to use for target practice) in lieu of the CableCards to decode the HD channels until the CableCards are installed?
Thanks

No, I'm afraid not!
You can do a channel scan and see what basic HD channels you get, but you won't be able to schedule recordings (except manually)

You can always try the method I used.
Only connect your OTA antenna to the S3 until the cable cards arrive.
This way you can try to record some of your major network shows on the S3 and continue to record other things on the SA8300HD.
The only problem this causes is that the S3 still tries to record Tivo Suggestions from your cable channels. Just go into your Now Playing List and clear out those occasionally.
When your cable cards are scheduled to be delivered, remove the network cable from your SA8300HD and connect it to your S3.
I may not even need to do this as, when I called TW to request the cable cards, I also requested that they supply a splitter so that the network cable can be connected to two separate devices.
I figure I will keep the SA8300HD for a while. If everything works as well as I expect it to with the S3, it won't be a long while.

Just go to settings and uncheck record TIVO suggestions.
