Good afternoon.

I've have two Tivos. An S2 and an S3. They were connected to my network and working fine. They still can go out to internet and get weather, etc. and update, however, they suddenly don't see my pictures and music. I'm not sure what may have happened.

I've tried everything. Deleting the folders from the Tivo desktop software and adding them again. Many other things.

Anyone have any suggestions on why this may not be working now and how to get it corrected?

Thanks.

Sounds like TiVoServer has stopped broadcasting. Try uninstalling and re-installing TiVo Desktop.

I can still "see" my S2 DVR and xfer recorded shows. Would that still work if the TivoServer had stopped broadcasting?

Thanks.

It might be your tivo desktop is on the wrong network interface.. i run vpn's and have two network cards in my laptop - tivo desktop frequently gets on the wrong network/ip range.. you can fix this by right clicking on the tivo desktop icon in your taskbar, and checking the 'network identification' (selecting a different one if you need to)

I have been having the same problem on a recurring basis with my S3 / Tivo wireless adapter. The first step of course is to verify network, firewall, application running etc.

If everything is correct, just unplug the wireless adapter and plugin it back in after 30 secs. No need to reboot the Tivo box. This works for me every time.

I wish Tivo had some diagnostics on both ends. E.g. box could say "I'm able to ping this IP addr but unable to reach port 8101" instead of just offering to remove that IP address.

I"m on a wired network, so the wireless adapter isn't the issue. It's happening on both my S2 and S3 Tivos.

I'll keep working on it.

Thanks.

I had many issues with firewall. I use AOL firewall and not the Windows one. I had to re-install Tivo desktop with firewall disabled and to put all the ".exe" programs in the authorized list. Try disabling any firewall just to see if it works.
