After a week of freeze ups on my new S3, Tivo just shipped me out a replacement unit. does anyone know if the cablecards be able to be transferred or do i need to reschedule an appointment. the guy on the phone said it should be no problem to just swap the CC's. any feedback? thanks

Did the installer call in host/data IDs during the cable card install or just serial numbers? That would be the key piece of information in answering that question.

If you don't remember what happened during the install process, and someone from your area using the same cable company doesn't chime in, then I don't know. I would say call the cable company, but if they're being true to form then it's likely they'll insist on sending an installer to your house.

I'm in the same boat, my 1st S3 was having severe video breakup problems on digital/HD channels on 1 tuner . Tivo decided it was faulty hawrdare, so a new one is on the way (see my post here for more details http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=4604957&&#post4604957).

When my CableCARDs were installed the CableCo tech only called in the serial numbers before he installed the cards.

Does this mean that I should have no problem installing these CableCARDs into the new S3 without needing another CableCo visit?

If only the serial numbers were called in, then it would seem that the cards aren't paired to the TiVo. Best way to find out is to try, but doesn't sound there will be a problem.
