I have not hooked up my Tivo to my home network, because my network has WPA security--but I just received an email from Tivo stating that it now does support WPA--

so I just ordered one--(From Amazon) :)

Isn't that just in the update that the S3 doesn't have?

Isn't that just in the update that the S3 doesn't have?Yes. That TiVo e-mail is VERY misleading. It doesn't state that it's only for the S2. If you dig further, they do state that, but not in the e-mail. Only on their Web site. Whoever proofread that e-mail is a knucklehead.

Thanks for letting me know--I just cancelled my order for the wireless--I will wait until I get the software update.

Tivo should have made it clear in their email

Yes you have to have software version 8.1 as well as the Tivo G wireless adapter--

I have software version 8.0.1--

I assume it's a matter of time.........

Well, I don't think that the S2's and S3's will ever have exactly the same version/feature set.

No, but I do expect the s3 to get every feature not banned by cablelabs. So we won't get TTG, but we should get WPA encryption, recently deleted, MRV, TTCB, tivocast, etc.

Although really TTG should be allowed too for programs flagged copy freely. As long as it obeys the DRM flags, I don't see why that would be a problem.

CableLabs also doesn't care about shows that aren't on encrypted channels. Encrypted ones that are marked copy freely or non-encrypted should both be allowed for TTG. TiVo may be trying for TTG for everything, but IMO it'll snow in hell first.
