View Full Version : Well that's weird

So I go to play Power Rangers Mystic Force (from a season pass) for my daughter and as the program starts, the progress bar shows that it is at 18:30 into a 19:00 hour recording. I can't access the previous 18:30 so the recording is about right (it actually includes the end of the credits from the previous show). Now I've seen in the past that when I press record on a show in progress and later play the recording, the program length will be some odd time because the buffer has been stored along with the program. But in those cases the buffer is accessible and it's usually 30-45 minutes long, not 18 hours.
Anyone seen this? Theories? I'm running 6.3a on an HR10-250.

I saw that same thing on my HR10 right after 6.3 downloaded. I recorded "Nothing but Trailers" on HDNet and the progress bar showed it starting at around the 11h45m mark, going to 12h15m. I couldn't get to anything before the 11:45 mark either.
In any case, I haven't seen the same thing happen again. Weird...

I have seen this a couple of time. Interesting one that I remember was with Nothing But Trailers.

Pretty much every "NBT" I've TIVO'D off of HDNET over the last 4-5 days has the aforementioned wacky progress bar (i.e it's a 30 minute show but the progress bar will show it starting at the 4 hour mark of a 4:30 block of time)...but tonight's takes the cake. Sitting down to watch today's recording from 6:30AM I have a progress bar that shows a total time of 24:30 !!!!!
The clock in the bottom RH corner of my TIVO shows a current starting time of 1440 minutes at the start of the program!!! As I said, I've had shows that started at the (i.e.) 5:30 mark of a 6 hour "block" according to the progress bar....but this one takes the cake!!!
I have 3 other HDTIVO'S but don't have a SP for Nothing but Trailers on any but the one I'm watching now.
Wacky......
Edit-Watching the 2nd one that aired today at 11:30am, I have a starting time of 29:00 of a 29:30 block!!! WTF ?!?!
Bad/Corrupted data?

I had the same thing happen on one episode of "Alias" recorded off TNTHD. It was the fourth of four episodes. The first three were fine, but the last one played as the last hour of a four-hour block. It's weird that the whole time shows up as a green bar but you just can't rewind to before the beginning of the show.
I suspect it's related to how long you've been tuned to that channel. In my case, it had been tuned to TNTHD for 3 hours before it recorded that episode. In your case, it had probably been tuned to HDNet for almost a day.

I had this happen on an Enterprise episode from HDNET. And I just got bit for the first time by the shortened recording bug, only 15 min recorded on a Masters of Horror episode on Showtime, with no repeats planned that I can see in the guide or Showtime website. Running 6.3a.
