Is the S3 HDVR capable of sending output to both the Component Video and the HDMI cable at the same time?

Both my SA 8300HD cable DVR and my D* HR10-250 both stop output to component whenever the HDMI cable is connected.

Whenever my Samsung HLR-4667W HDTV stops receiving video over the HDMI connection, I need to get down on the floor and unplug the HDMI cable from whichever box I am watching before I can receive video over it's component cables.

I am hoping that I can just connect the S3 HDVR to both the component and hdmi cables and just switch the source on the TV when it happens. This would be nice to know in advance since my knees are in bad enough shape that getting back up from the floor is not easy.

Is the S3 HDVR capable of sending output to both the Component Video and the HDMI cable at the same time?Yes ... but ... so is the 8300HD ...

If the TV is having HDCP handshake issues ... well, you may very well get the exact same "Viewing is not permitted using the TiVo Digital Media Recorder. Try another TV input." on component and/or HDMI with the S3.

For example, see the following:

Then again, the HDCP handshaking issues may be specific to your other DVRs ... and not happen with the S3 ...

I'd suggest trying to see how HDCP is going for someone with the S3 and your particular TV model (or a sister model ... same TV but different screen size).
