Since I couldn't stop Heavy I had to disable Video downloads altogether!

Are we supposed to know what you're talking about?
"Stop Heavy"?

You currently cannot stop downloads of TiVoCast programs - like Heavy, RB, etc. because you get an error message that they are currently upgrading the TiVoCast system.
So what he is saying is that he went online and turned them all off all together.

Why throw the baby out with the bath water? Heavy only comes once a week, and you can easily delete it when you see it. I agree it's frustrating that you can't unsubscribe right now, but it's not permanent.

Sounds like "I can't change the ring tone on my cell phone, so I just switched the phone off"

If I accidently set a loud, bothersome ring tone on phone that was disruptive, I would silence my phone. That seems to be a better analogy

Both of the above posts provide my view on the subject perfectly. Sounds like a rant to me.
On a side note, I enjoy the Heavy stuff, quite funny IMO.

I have been careful with TivoCast items since I know you can not unsub from them at this time. I just ask for one recording, try it out and if I like it then I sign up for the season pass. Like others said though it is once a week, is it really that bothersome to have to turn off all video downloads? Also if you must unsub and can not wait (as it seems the OP is at this point of time) you can msg Stephen with your TSN and he will handle it for you.

RocketBoom and NY Times aren't on the TivoCast system yet since you can still subscribe/unsubscribe directly. I think they still have issues with daily TivoCasts since you will have to go into the NPL and delete old episodes before you can get new ones thanks to the "great" design.

This is a very temporary issue :)

The latest, American Suck countdown had a "TivoCast" opening screen with the Tivo guy and a rating screen and iVillage had a tylenol ad.
Gotta monetize and brand I suppose. I wonder exactly how much content a TivoCast can deliver in a day.

We're working to get unsubscribe on your box as soon as possible. Earlier this month (at the New York event) we committed to getting that feature available before the month end. I expect us to hit that date, but not this week due to the vacation.
Rocketboom is now available on TiVo Central Online (http://www.tivo.com/tivocast/) and New York Times will follow shortly.
In the meantime, if you MUST unsubscribe right away, send me your TSN and I'll unsub you. (That'll create more incentive for me to get the unsub feature rolled out to you as soon as we can).
EDIT: You can now unsubscribe yourself via TiVo Central -> Find Programs -> TiVoCast
