Oh man! Herc is toast. He deserved it, he's such a lump... but I have a bad feeling Bubbles isn't going to be able to enjoy his revenge for long.

Chris obviously had a few issues that he decided to work out on Michael's father. As always Snoop is ice cold.

Have to wonder what, if anything, Bode will do about Little Kevin. Could that be the thread that pulls down Marlo? Or will it be Omar?

It seems like Carcetti is getting schooled. I truly hope he has some trick up his sleeve or he's toast. At least he's too smart to fall for Davis's patter.

I can't wait a week!! :(

And Michael is in debt to Marlow

I saw this last thursday using on demand and it's kind of burrowed it's way deep and made me somewhat depressed. This was one of the darker episodes of the series, between the dirty cop and the scene with michael. I'm just not sure what to make of it. It almost seems like michael WASN'T molested and had some sort of psychopathic reason, or maybe just wanted to keep his mother under control.

Though I like callie thorne, I'm really hoping that mcnulty doesn't end up in the sack with her. But I think he will.

I'm proud of bubbles. That seemed like a really heartfelt point that the writers were making.

I don't think Michael was even an issue. Chris jumped to the same conclusion that we did about the abuse, and for whatever reason, just the idea drove him insane. Michael had no way of knowing it would have that kind of effect on him, and if he were trying to manipulate him, he probably would have been less subtle.

(I was amused that even Snoop seemed a little taken aback by the ferocity of the beating. By the way, I saw an article about the actor who plays Snoop, and it would seem that she is basically playing herself several years ago. And some of the more indecipherable dialog the kids use comes from her.)

Best beating since the Stewie/Brian "Where's my money" bludgeoning on Family Guy last season!

I agree, Chris obviously had his own issues there. But his father seemed genuine in denying molestation, and the scene at the end with michael was kind of creepy. I suppose another explanation could be that he was abusing michael's mother.

I think it is pretty obvious that Chris was abused also.

Is there nothing scarier in this world than being walked down an alley by Snoop and Chris?

Chris was either abused at home or in jail, when the makes a statement about jail. Chris goes off.

Bubbles yeah the plate is PRZ8GOD. Hey Herc have fun working the harbor patrol!

Did anyone notice Randy getting the cold shoulder? The previews hint at something more for young Randy.

The downside only 3 more episodes.

Cold shoulder? Hints? It was not a hint, it was a direct statement. They put the word out on the street that randy is a snitch, so people are treating him like a snitch.

Herc has really been the prez of this season, only without the up side that prez had. First he failed to take randy to bunk, then he does all this stupid stuff with marlo, doesn't take the hint about pidgeons, loses the video camera, and then totally neglects bubbles, who has in no small way helped them bust major players.

Well and Herc's screw up with Bunk still has not been addressed. I am waiting for that one to come around.

Also, I inferred that they weren't going to hide the body in a house because they walked away... i'm guessing that will come back to haunt them too.

Apparently this episode was available on Comcast on demand last week. I was listening to a sports talk show last Tuesday and the two hosts were talking about the savage beating Chris laid on Bug's dad. I had almost a week to prepare for it and it still made me turn my head and walk away. Yikes.

Michael's smirks when he knew Bug's dad wan't coming back were disturbing to say the least.

She may be a homicidal maniac and a cold blooded killer but I loves me some Snoop.

Little Kevin was the worst actor ever on this show.

It may bite him in the butt later but I'm happy that Bubbles got revenge on Herc. Bubbs better call Kima and get her to look out for him or at least find a new spot to live.

Namond's mom may be the worst mom in the history of moms. She's not on drugs. She's not mentally ill. She has no excuse. She's simply the worst mother in the world.

I have a feeling that Michael may end up like another Stringer Bell once he's fully integrated into the drug world. Either that or dead.

Clay Davis? Sheeeeiiiit!!

+1 on Namond's Mom!

Namond's mom was another one of those reality check moments. What good are experimental school programs to socialize and educate if you are being undermined by namond's mother the whole time?

Isn't it against board rules to talk about previews?

Thing is, Namond was one of the kids they listed as potentially saveable. Ouch.

after viewing season 4 and having over a week for it to sit, i definitely think season 4 of the wire is the best season any tv show has ever had. simply amazing.

Season 4 has been exceptional... No question about it. However, my vote for best season ever goes to The Sopranos Season 1 ;)

Yes. I went back and double checked. Any talk of previews must be spoilerized.

HOwever, you don't have to spoilerize anything that happened in the current episode. No matter how major it was. It is assumed you watched the show before stepping foot in the thread.

It's amazing... as great as this series is, it doesn't get the coverage (even here) as some other lesser shows. Sad really :(

I think people want fairy tale endings and for the good guys to always win. The Wire is closer to reality than other tv shows. I like the fact that the characters on The Wire behave like real people.

It's amazing... as great as this series is, it doesn't get the coverage (even here) as some other lesser shows. Sad really :(Well... I just figure there's not as much to talk about. The Wire is what it is: when you're a gritty realistic show there's a lot less room for speculation. No big mysteries, no fantastic supernatural forces to argue about, etc.

The most we have to argue about are things like whether or not Michael's dad abused him... and really there's no way to know for sure so it's kind of pointless (not that that seems to stop a lot of speculation in the Lost and Heros threads :p )
