after some googling I found that you cant store music on your tivo, but I wondered if the streaming was somewhat reliable. Also, can this be done WITHOUT a tivo subscription.

What ended up happening is I bought a used Tivo, and don't want to subscribe because I am sticking with directv. I wondered if I could turn the Xtra tivo box into a cool jukebox. AND picture viewer

I think it's possible to hook up a standalone TiVo to work with DirecTV using the IRBlaster.

Wireless streaming of MP3 works just fine on a 11b network. It doesn't require much bandwidth at all. You can not do this without a sub on the Series 2.

Now that's a lot of help. Too bad nobody asked.
Maybe you should just stick with the happy hour forum.

That's exactly the response your pathetic thread fart should get. You always manage to come off like an ass.

I always find it amusing to see how low a person will go to show that they are a "high road" type of person. Thanks for the laugh.

ROTFLMFAO!

Um... I was just trying to show the OP that there might still be a way for him to use the TiVo that he spent money on.

I'm not going to apologize for that. :p
