According to The Futon Critic:

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has pulled the plug on "Vanished" while fellow newcomer "Justice" is moving to yet another time slot.

"Justice" will take over "Vanished's" previous home of Fridays at 8:00/7:00c starting December 1.

The series had previously been set to return on Monday, December 11 at 9:00/8:00c.

As for "Vanished," a notice on the show's official web site indicates the remaining four installments of the series will be streamed online:

"The remaining four episodes will stream on the VANISHED myspace page, with a new episode posted every Friday at 12:01 PT, beginning Nov. 17th. Three episodes will be kept up at a time. The series finale will be posted online on Friday, December 8th."

As for FOX's Monday schedule, repeats of "House" will fill the night on December 11 and 18 while various previously announced specials will run until "24" returns to the lineup on January 15 ("The 2006 Billboard Music Awards" on December 4, the movie "Peter Pan" on December 25, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on January 1 and the BCS National Championship Game on January 8).

Can't say I'm surprised, I cut this show after three weeks. I can't say I'm happy about Justice moving again, especially to Fridays.

When USA and SciFi get back in full swing, if Justice is still airing new episodes I'm going to have to split recordings among DVRs.

I hate splitting recordings... :-(

is this the one with the senator? I literally can't keep track as i'm trying to watch all the shows lol

i keep forgetting my math...but can someone list the ways it's better to do reruns of a show than new eps of a series

i assume:

they charge more for House ads vs vanished

however, I thought ad rates were already set per the previous sweeps months or are they on a sliding real time scale based on current viewership

all the people involved in (any) show are already paid and whether their show goes or not, they still made the same money

So will they actually wrap up the story?

:( Well I liked Vanished, I guess I was the only one.

They knew over a month ago that they were only getting 13 episodes, so presumably they scripted the story to end in that amount of time.

I guess I'm far enough into this show that I'll watch it online, unlike Kidnapped, which I'd only seen two episodes of when it was relegated to the net, so I bailed.

I wish they would just put all the remaining episodes online at once rather than one a week.

Let me burn through them whenever I have time.

I liked it too! I think it's crap that they at least don't give the loyal viewers a marathon wrap up of the last 4 eps on FX or some other Fox cable outlet NOT Myspace! Unless of course, they are providing a nice downloadable mpg or avi that we can burn to a DVD!

I liked it as well. This is disappointing. I knew the show was on the chopping block anyway, but they could have at least aired those last few episodes. Leave it to FOX.

But NBC did the same thing to "Kidnapped".

I'm trying to finish Kidnapped online. It's a real drag waiting.

So, any thought of doing the same thing with this one is just too much for me. My recorded episodes are gone now .....

I like it too, especially with the recent cast change. I was sorry to hear that it wasn't going to be renewed, and even more sorry to hear that the final episodes will be relegated to the net. It's a decent show, but not decent enough for me to want to watch it on a small window on my PC....

The Vanished page on myspace appears to require Windows to view the video. Why don't these bozos use standard video formats like Quicktime or WMV? Any viewing solutions for us Mac and Linux users?

I hate to be a dummy, but could someone post a link to get to this page. I have never used Myspace, and would prefer not to but I would like to see the last few episodes.

Thanks,
Gerry

I never bothered watching one episode of Vanished. When it was on after Prison Break I would just change the channel because I knew it will get canceled.

No !@$ way to watch on a Mac apparently. I just added it to my netflix queue.. They seem to add all current shows even when there's no idea if the show will come out. Hopefully that info gets passed back to the networks.

No way to watch it on Windows either if you use the Firefox browser. I had to resort to using Internet Explorer.

Worked in Firefox 2 for me. Was prompted to install an extension called "MoveNetworks Quantum Media Player".

I see what I believe would be episode 10 streamed through the link above. Is there any chance this will come out as a torrent - I don't see it now through Torrent Portal or Isohunt or anything. I would love to watch this on TV rather than the computer. Or does this streaming technology prohibit people from creating a torrent, such that I should never expect one and thus I should just watch it on the computer now? Thanks!

Actually there is a full screen mode. Its in the near center, a little to the upper left of there.

The burning question remains unanswered! Has anyone heard if the mystery is actually resolved at the conclusion of the season???

I would smash my computer to bits if I sat through four torturous hours of streaming web video only to have the series end with a cliff hanger!!! A cliff hanger that would obviously NEVER be resolved!

I knew I never should have watched the last four episodes. I've got a couple of questions that'll never get answered.

Yup... they pretty much screwed us. i am pretty sure Fox gave the writers/producers enough notice to wrap it up, but perhaps they were hoping for a reprieve.

A few things wrapped up if you use your imagination, but some things not even addressed. I'll post what happened if anyone out there is interested.

Yes, please do. I started to watch the on-line episodes but I started to doubt that they would wrap things up so I stopped. I still would be interested in what did happen in the last episodes.

Thanks,
Gerry

Have all four eps been shown? I still haven't started them. Does this mean that I have no chance to see the first one now?

Nope you never find out. In fact nothing is resolved only more of the same.

Were these last episodes supposed to resolve anything? I'm sorry I wasted my time watching.

Here's a synopsis from another site:
Ben buys a gun and kills Rainer to avenge Marcy's rape and miscarriage...... FBI boss Tyner is a mole working for the whole apocalypse organization along with Jeffrey Collins' father and Judy Nash's boss....... Tyner and the bad guys fail to catch Sarah after numerous attempts and she escapes and returns to Pete the fisherman on his boat.... Their daughter's fate along with Sara's parents is unknown.... The Collins family is stuck with having Joanna in the house with Jeffrey having a sad expression on his face while she is serving food... .All in all pretty pathetic ending.

Here's a synopsis from another site:
Whoa! I highlighted the first sentence and realized it was way more than I was ready to know. This appears to be just the spoilers from the latest episode. Can you either post the synopsis from all the online-only episodes, or provide a link to the page where you got that description so I can catch up to that point?

Thanks

I'm just waiting for the final Vanished ep to hit the torrent sites. That's how I watched the other three online eps.
