Tivo Series 2 Orange light?

The remote to my Tivo works fine with the TV, however when I press the Tivo button, guide or any of the Tivo functions, the green light that's lit on the front of the Tivo box will turn orange.

Any suggestions?

Is it staying orange, or just becoming orange when you push a button on the remote?

If the latter, normal, it just shows the TiVo is seeing the remote send something.

The light will turn orange once I press any of the buttons. It's been happening since last night.

Is the TiVo responding to the remote normally? If there is a time delay greater than 5 seconds, then you may be seeing the beginning of hard drive problems.

The Tivo is not responding to the remote at all...the orange light will appear & that's about it.

If I'm experiencing early hard drive problems, is this something that's covered under warranty? How can this be resolved?

You would have to check the warranty. It depends on the make and model of your TiVo. You can contact the manufacturer for service and find out whether it is covered. If you have a TiVo brand unit, then call TiVo customer service.

If the TiVo does not respond to the remote you may have the DVR switch in the wrong position. If setting the switch to the other position does not fix the problem try unplugging any USB network adaptor you might have and reboot the TiVo also check the batteries in the remote.
