View Full Version : DT Tivo will do Analog cable & Sat Digital, right?

It pretty obvious to me this should do this, but I just want to make sure there are no gotchas in this plan. There is no weird limitation in the DT Tivo for this right? It supports cable and sat service mixes just like the single tuner Tivo, correct?

I mean, if I can hook it up to record analog cable on one encoder, and record the output of the digital cable box on the other, then I figure it could care less whether I substituted a sat digital cable box in place of the digital cable.

Just wanted to make sure before I finished designing the system for the new house. Ok, so folks who have read about my previous project may wonder what I am up to since I haven't posted much since the twins were born... Well, I figure a 1TB DT Tivo fed by DirectTv and analog cable, then output to an Algolith Flea- then to a scaler should produce a reasonable picture on the 58 in plasma, and the Video iPod fed flip down screen in the car (currently doing 2.5 hrs/day driving kids around instead of posting here- sorry).

Yes, my understanding is that you can interface to your DirecTV Receiver for one "tuner", and use your analog cable connection as the other "tuner".

Thanks dude. I couldn't think of any reason why it would care but thought I'd check just in case.

Hey, just curious from your pic- You didn't work on a "Rawhide" or "Little Joe" project years ago did you?
