I put us on a waiting list for DirectTV HD DVR. We now have Tivo and just wanted to add the HD. What I am trying to figure out is, will my tv handle the unit DirectTV is offering, (not even sure it is called Tivo).

My tv is a JVC HD ready (JVC AV-56WP74). Will I need to get a HD reciever or is this built into the Tivo unit?

The dish is not a problem as I can change it if needed.

A hd receiver is built into the Directv HD DVR. If your TV is HD ready, it sould be able to handle the unit directv sends you.
