I have searched only a little while, so if I disobeyed the forum's sticky thread about searching there first for help, I'm Sorry.

My question was how to go about recording on a gaming console.. If that would even be possible? Say I wanted to run my Xbox/Playstation/PC through the TiVo/DVR and record what was being shown on my output device(TV or Monitor). Is that possible or is it used strictly for cable television.

I am just wondering if it is at all possible. I google/wiki-ed it and came up empty handed, so I was hoping someone out here could help me.

Thanks in advance,

-Slim

Yes, Tivo can record any NTSC TV signal it receives.
Keep in mind that you can record from a video game console, but you should also have the console connected directly to the TV. Why? because Tivo has about a 2 second delay while it encodes and decodes the signal.

I couldnt find anything conclusive after about 15 minutes of searching and I didn't know exactly what question to ask. So again, I apologize if it was a silly question.. You completely answered my question though, so thank you for the answer and the advice.

Take Care,

It is possible, but on non DVD-R models, is not elegant or easy, since, yes, the TiVo is designed to be a TV recorder.

You need to set up a satellite box as a source, and connect you console to that. You also need to somehow split the console video to the TiVo and the display directly ,as the TiVo will delay the video/audio, which is no good for geameplay.
