Ok, this should be a no-brainer.

Yesterday, I had TiVo Desktop running just fine on my 500MHz iBook G3, which serves as my music and photo server. (Feel free to laugh. Portable as a server. Yes, I know.)

Both my Series 2 boxes could see the music, and I was happy as a clam. I have no idea what version of TD I was using; never bothered to check.

Then I screwed it up. I installed 1.9.3. Shoot me.

Now it exhibits the same behavior on 10.3.9 as it does on my two Tiger machines: when I go to System Preferences and click on "TiVo Desktop," the title bar switches to "Loading TiVo Desktop..." but it never actually changes. It doesn't freeze my system preferences. It simply does...nothing.

I know from the forums that TD doesn't play nice with Tiger. I'm ok with that. I don't NEED it running on Tiger. I just want to get it working on the 10.3.9 machine.

I can't even prove that the thing is really running anymore. I tried removing the Startup item and removing the Prefs, rebooting, and reinstalling, but it didn't like that either.

I'm assuming that reverting to TD 1.8 might solve the problem? ...No? Bad idea?

Moot point. I wouldn't know how to be sure I'd wiped the current one from my system before I tried that anyway, nor where to find the older versions.

Someone please help me. I'm a pretty smart guy and usually figure things out on my own, but the general attitude in these forums make it pretty clear that TiVo treats Mac users as subhuman.

Help me out before I go all simian on them.
