ok - just finished recording the Bears game for my sleeping son - ended at 10:44pm -
but of course the guide lists it ending at 10:30pm
Had to quickly press record at 10:30, and now it shows up as the late news.

What techniques do you use to record these types of situations ?
I wish there was a way to just "record" until I tell you to "stop"... like a VCR

When setting up a recording, you have the option to pad it for just that situation. I usually pad football games by an hour.

I pad the recording for football games by 1 hr or so, depends on how close you think the game will be and if you think OT is possibility, etc.

As for stopping the recording at the end you can, just change the channel, Tivo will warn you it is recording and choose stop recording or whatever the equivlent is.
