View Full Version : Channel Disappeared altogether

I tried to watch Dexter tonight and found that the Tivo wanted to record it off of the DirectTV channel that I don't have. When I looked at the Channel Listing sections of the Settings it still has the DirectTV unchecked and there is NO Showtime or Cinemax even showing as an option for Cable. Just to make sure it wasn't a Cable company thing I switched over to my non Tivo feed and made sure they still showed up, they do. I also checked the Channel Listing that Cox provides on their website, it's listed there too.
For good measure I went and setup the Channels for Cable again using the Tivo Setup. It still doesn't show.
How can I manually add a channel that isn't even appearing? When I try to change the channel on the Tivo to Channel 14 it thinks it is a satellite station.
Help???

Did you get a tivo message that there was a lineup change and Showtime was removed? Check zap2it.com and see if it still shows Showtime in the lineup. If Showtime doesn't show up at zap2it, check nearby zip codes to see if one of them has the correct setup. If so, rerun Guided Setup with that zip code. If not, file a lineup issue report at tivo.com.

ZikZak, thanks for the tips. I did try to see if another town in my area had a lineup that matched. No luck, I did find a few that were very close, I think some of the other areas get Encore on Channel 14 and it shifts everything else down the line. I checked to make sure that wasn't something I missed yesterday in my haze since I only caught the last half of Dex. I did check the Tivo messages about Lineup changes but saw none that were relevant. However, it wouldn't suprise me if Dad deleted it. So far I have found that HBO, Showtime, and Skinemax are the only one's missing.
Hopefully when i put in the Lineup issue report it will be resolved quickly. If there is anyone else in the Wichita, KS area please let me know if you are having the same problem. For those interested I tried most towns in Sedgwick and Butler Counties for similar program guides.
Thanks again for the help. It's always frustrating sitting on my hands, in this case at least I had things to keep me occupied.

was searching through the site. i had the same thing happen. went to sit down sunday night to watch the Wire and bam....no hbo, showtime, cinemax. skips from 13 to 17. i'm also in wichita, ks.
got the message about the lineup change but nothing else. they are just gone now. hbo is fine on tv upstairs.

I have filed the Lineup issue report and have the case number. Zikzak, do you think it would be a good idea to pm the case number to ihcgearhead, or post on the forum? I am not sure if that would be considered private info.
Anyways, to speed it up for you ihcgearhead I found the following as the channels missing, then it will ask for the description in your own words.
"Missing Channels
Channel (Ch. #) [14] is missing and it should be listed as (Ch. Letters) [Showtime].
Channel (Ch. #) [15] is missing and it should be listed as (Ch. Letters) [HBO].
Channel (Ch. #) [16] is missing and it should be listed as (Ch. Letters) [Cinemax]."

There's no need to share case numbers; file separate reports so that both are in the system. Usually these things are fixed in a few days to a week.

cool. i'll try that tomorrow. my wife is asleep and the tivo is in our bedroom. sure did tick me off though to see that message and my show not recorded.

well, i went in to get the service number and i had a new message saying they noticed a lineup change and added (14show). went back to the guide and they were all back again.

I did to. I got home from work and it showed the lineup change message. Everyone lucked out. I missed the first part of Dex and just felt so empty inside...but now I'm not so everyone is safe. :up:
The support was reasonable, only took a few days for it to be updated. It's understandable that they want to research the cause before fixing it.
