I have a large list of auto-transfers and I use the converting software, I really want/need to re-install windows and I was wondering what the best way to back up this information would be.

Since this is TiVo-related, having to do, apparently, with TiVo to Go or something along those lines, I'd guess these forums here are a fine place to ask. Not exactly "general chit-chat"...maybe the underground? Since those guys know so much about all sorts of computer-related tricks involving your TiVo?

Try backing up C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\TiVo Desktop. That's where TiVo Desktop keeps all of it's cache, settings, etc.

IMO, all you need to back up are yout Tivo recordings (and recordings for portables), the installer, and keep your MAK and Plus upgrade key on hand.

for some reason I dont have that folder. hmm.
That's weird ... that's where all the Now Playing List cache files and things like that are.
