Series 2 Blank Screen

My series 2 TiVO will just shut down leaving a blank screen. I have to unplug the unit to reboot and become operational. Occassionally I will see tiling on the screen of a program that I am recording and viewing live. Am I beginning to see hard drive problems or is this a software upgrade issue?

Try pressing the TiVo button when it is in this mode. It is possible that someone put it in standby.

Tiling that you are seeing could be related to hard drive issues. However, depending on your video source, there could be other reasons. If your source is satellite, weak signals or signal balckage by trees or weather could cause the issues.

I have a Toshiba hooked up to SuddenLink cable, so I do not think it is the feed. When I hit the TiVo button there is no response to any command and I must pull the plug to reboot.

It sounds like it could be a hard drive issue. Have not seen or heard of this type of behavior from the software update.
