Ok,

I've been using a cablcard in my Toshiba since 1/16/06. There have been mutiple problems. The worst one is pixelating/tiling requiring a cold boot of the TV. It got worse with Toshiba's last software update. I used to use Toshiba's recording capability but stopped because I lost too many programs due to this issue.

Has Tivo fared any better with the cablecard? Every time I speak with Toshiba or Comcast a rep says that Motorola and TV makers aren't commumicating well re: cablecards.

Thank you for your input.

My install went perfectly (Cablevison, Long Island). It did take a while and during the wait I chatted with the tech. He mentioned that the install on the TiVo was miles easier than the install on TVs.

Installation in my TV went smoothly too. It was the use of the cablecard in the following weeks that was a problem because of Toshiba's software.

My installer said the exact same thing, and my install went perfectly, too. Comcast, San Francisco.

Ditto to what the other guys said. Much to my surprise, the cc install went smoothly and everything is working perfectly after 2 weeks.
