I find that animation like Family Guy, American Dad and The Simpsons looks better on my SD channels than my HD channels. I had removed the SD channel from channels I receive since I wanted only HD programs recorded. Can I add the SD channel back, set up my three season passes, and then remove it from the channels I receive list and my season pass will still work ok?

Yes, just go to Settings/Channels and check them again. You will need to change your season passes.

Right, but it won't have a problem with me new season passes after I remove those channels from the Channels I Receive list?

OK, I got you now. Try it and see if it appears in the to do list. If it does then it works.

Well, I removed the SD channel from the channels I receive and my upcoming season pass recordings are still there. But, what I am concerned about is whether it will find these shows in the coming weeks after it has recorded the ones in my to do list. Since that channel is no longer considered one I receive, I doubt it will be able to find upcoming new episodes there and add them to the record queue.

Now that I think about it, I don't see how there would be anyway for the Tivo to record further episodes from my SD channel after I removed it from my channels received list.
I guess I'm stuck like the others here have said that if you have both SD and HD channels in your received list, it will record your tivo suggestions from the SD channel. But, I have no other choice than to have them both added if I want to season pass something from the SD channel.

Yes the HD tag is sorely needed especially for the case of wishlists when it won't even match the higher number channels which are generally the HD versions. This was one of the biggest oversights of the S3 software release and probably due to the fact that most of the current S3 software roots stem from the S2 software base. The software on the HDTivo units has this capability so there's really no excuse for Tivo not to implement similar capability for the S3.
