I just got my S3, and already have two S2's.

I often transfered shows from one S2 to the other. Now with the S3 it would usually outright replace one of the S2's but without Multi-Room Viewing enabled this is a non-option at this time.

My question is: If I disable one of the S2's and keep it next to my new S3, what features will that S2 have? Will I be able to transfer recordings from the valid S2 Tivo to the now deactivated S2 Tivo? I guessing not, since the MRV is a feature that needs to be enabled from the Tivo on-line interface, but has anyone tried this?

What can a deactived S2 do? Anything? Can you still watch recorded shows you have on there?

TIA!

You will be able to watch, play, etc the programs already recorded on there. That is all. You need the service to do anything else. You will not be able to record new programs, nor will you be able to use MRV at all.
