View Full Version : Swapping Hard Drive

Sorry if the answer to this is here somewhere. I did a search on "hard drive" but did not find what I wanted. Since I just got my T3 up and running last night I thought it might be a good time to swap out the small hard drive for a bigger one. Is it as simple as swapping on a computer? Is there someplace where the procedure has been described? Does it void the warranty on the T3?

I'm not sure I want to wait around for eSata port to be activated. Sometimes these things can take a long time.

Thanks for any help.

Here are this instructions I used...

Here is the main thread in the Upgrade Forum

And finally some food for thought...

It will void your warranty.

I was finding the thread in the Upgrade Forum, and greg_burns beat me to the reply!

Nothing much to add, except I would wait for the next OS upgrade (which I would expect in a couple of weeks) before doing yours. You just got service (from another thread) so I would wait a week or two to make sure there are no problems. And who knows, the next update might include e-Sata!

thanks for the info. Tell the truth I DO have to wait on a hard drive upgrade because I can't get a decent picture out of the TIVO tuners and I've tried everything I can think of. I think I might have a defective TIVO.
