Sluggish SA Tivo

My 540 seems to be developing a lag. I guess it's not too surprising with all the new features added this year. But I'd like to know if this is more unique to the 540 or is it happening with other SA SD units?

I've been debating getting a dual tuner model, perhaps one with the DVD burner. Or I could just wait until the HDTV units come down in price and my spare change goes up. ;)

If the dual tuners are more responsive due to being newer technology I might rather go that way now. But if they are just as sluggish in responding to commands I might as well stick with what I have.

So is it possibly just "my" box?

Its not just your unit - it is due to bugs introduced with versions 7.3 & 7.3.1 software updates.

Note - a new service release is now in beta testing which we all hope will fix these problems but the jury is still out on that.

Thanks. So does this not effect the dual tuners? It looks like mostly 540 owners.

It does some but it isn't as much/noticable because the DT has better processor and RAM.
