I was recently given a new Tivo Series 2 stand-alone box as a gift and have tried to hook it up through my DirecTV D11 satellite box with little to no success in changing channels. I'm using IR code 10074-B, and have tried many others.

I've gone through the troubleshooting process over the phone with both DirecTV and Tivo and they both blamed the other. I've looked through the posts here and have seen that this seems to be a pretty consistent problem. My questions:

- Is there a proven way to make this combo work?

- If not, what older DirecTV model receiver do you recommend for reliable channel changing and general functioning?

Thanks for the time...

After playing around with this I finally got the D11 to Change channels.

I used TIVO IR Immitters . Went through guided setup . Selected Directv as my reciever. The key seemed to placement of the IRs. Placing the IRs in front of the D11 semed to work best. If I moved them away it affected the changing of channels.

As I said it worked for me on 3 TIVOs

Can you further explain what you mean by placing the IR transmitters in the front? Where else could you have put it? Not trying to be sarcastic, just trying to duplicate to get mine to work. TIA

Thanks for the suggestion Paul, but I'm with TIA in that I'm not quite sure what you mean about placing the "IRs in front." Do you mean directly in front instead of the suggested inch and a half? If you had a chance to explain this further that'd be great.
