Watching a little Fued and in the final questions

"Name the night with the worst TV"..... UPN!

I remember a funny one from several years ago. It was the "final" round and the question was:

- Name a baseball team besides the Yankees.
One person answered Jets.
The other person answered Yankees (no joke).

two that come to mind (Richard Dawson days)

Q: name a country in South America
A: France

Q: name something you buy that is fake because the real version is too expensive
A: Ice cream

The family that answered the south america question also answered Italy, London, Europe...etc. one person said Mexico so at least they were close!

And then there was it's cousin:

Q: "Name the month when most babies are born?"

A: "Ninth"

I also remember once when in the final round the first person already got to 200 and won the big money, so to play a joke on the second person, they reset the score to 0 and Ray Combs asked stupid questions like "Name a Three Stooges Wife" and "Pick a number between 1 and 1000"

We quote that one in our family all the time! LOL! :D

Another fave: One time they had a family of asparagus farmers on, and in the final round, the first question was, "Name something that grows fast;" and the guy said, "Asparagus!" Richard Dawson laughed so hard they had to stop the tape. Then the 2nd person came up and he asked her the same question, and she said, "Asparagus!" I thought Richard was going to pee his pants! :p

The answer was pretty funny by itself but it's Richard Dawson's reaction that makes it such a classic game show moment.

Even after a producer told him to "pull yourself together" (heard off-camera), he still couldn't. It's hard to imagine that happening with a game show host today. (And wouldn't they edit that out now?)

I can't find a clip of it, but there was actually someone on the prime time Millionaire who went out on the first question too! I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

That's the one I was thinking of. I couldn't remember the exact question, but remembered that it had something to do with Little Jack Horner.

I was at a taping of Family Fued back in 2000 around Labor Day. Louie Anderson was there. Surprised me how small the set actually was. Got the tickets in front of Grummems (sp) Chinese Theater. It was the only show taping that day. FF would not have been my first choice, but glad we did it.

Saw two episodes. The one question that stood out the most.

Question - What comes to mind when you think of Niagra Falls?

Answer - I don't know about anyone else, but I think of Utah.

WHOLE crowd exclaimed at sametime - UTAH?!? Then after an uncomfortable pause, the slow clapping and 'good answer' started up.

Kid that answered was a 20 yo with zero chance of college with dreams of Harlem Globetrotters, they even did some extra footage of him playing with multiple basketballs.

AUGH! It's FEUD! Not FUED! Sorry, but the longer this thread has been at the top of the list, the more it's become like nails on a chalkboard to me. :)

What stinks about the two clips of the first wrong answer if they KNOW they messed up but said final answer too fast

that's why they MAKE you say final answer!! you are supposed to say the answer, wait a second THEN say final answer.

such stupid people always going. C final answer!

WWTBAM has had "Zero Dollar Winner" episodes where they gave the Total Winnings $0 contestants a second chance.

"In what state does water exist as a solid?"

One of my own teammates buzzed in and answered: "Alaska"

We never let him forget it.

What was the right answer, by the way? I'd think the answer would be "solid", but that word is in the question.

The four states are solid, liquid, gas and plasma, right?
