Okay, keep getting this error message when I try to install Tivo Desktop:

Internal Error 2755/631, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Wise Installation Wizard\WIS4E........(buncha numbers)..MSI \

What the heck is going on? I have installed, uninstalled, restarted and everything and keep getting that message, I am all the way up to the point of putting my media access code and the install is in progress when this error pops up...

HELP???? Need to move stuff off the tivo over to the computer and can't do it!!!

Thanks for your help!

Is it 631 or 1631? If 1631 it may be folder or registry permissions. Are you using Windows XP? Do you have full Administrator rights?

it's a 631.. Windows xp... should have admin rights... where do I check? I installed this on the computer a week ago and it worked, moved a couple shows over and all the sudden it wouldn't work, so I deleted and re-installed and got this message...

To check if you have Admin rights, right click on "Start". If "Open All Users" appears, you have Admin rights. Are you using Windows XP home or Windows XP pro?
What is the security of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Wise Installation Wizard? Are any of the files there marked read only?

yeah, the Wise Installer Wizard is a read only file in properties... I tried to change it, but it reverts back when you go back in after you apply...
the right click on the start button does show me as an admin..

The folder does not mater. It is the files inside that should not be read-only.
Again I've never heard of an error 631, just a 1631. Maybe the / is a 1 (one).
