Anyone look real close at the CW bug on the screen. I recorded a show in basic last week and when I looked down at the bug it looked like EW. Wonder if they realize they have the Eww network.

Yeah, with the word "the" inside the "C" it does look like an "E". And why must it be so large? Also, make it more transparent. All networks think we are stupid in that we can't remember what channels we're watching. Maybe they are right. :) But, then with TiVos we don't really care what channel the show is on, do we?

The bugs are very handy when traveling. Most times the hotel list is out of sight or buried in a book. When I flip on the set it's nice to be able see the network at a glance. I'd just wish they ran them during the commercials instead and made them more transparent.

They just don't have to be so big and U-G-L-Y!

At least they only have one bug. I was watching a show on Fox News and they had a bug on the lower left hand corner that was pretty cool. It was right above the news ticker and had the time or something like that on it. Then there was a bug on the upper left hand corner that kept doing FOX NEWS over and over. Not needed.

I don't mind the bugs so much. What I really hate is when the network feels that it is necessary to advertise every freakin' show on their network by taking up the lower 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen. They use those stupid little animations and occasionaly add sounds. AAAAAARRRRRGHHHHH!!! Make them stop!
Last year, the local WB affilliate would run some stupid call-in give away during Smallville. The graphic (and I am not exaggerating) took up 1/3 of the screen. If you think that was annoying, they would then put up another 1/3 screen graphic telling me who won the stupid contest! shoot me please...

This is the future of advertising. Soon, it wont be just promos for other shows. It'll be Taco Bell. YOUR TIVO IS NOT SAFE!

I think that's one of the problems. If you don't have to know which network you're watching, you might not know which network you're watching. The networks don't want you to not know you're watching them.

The problem with that is how far do you carry it? Now we have to make certain they know which channel they're watching, channel bug. How about a sponsor bug? And lastly we need to have scrolling reminder of what's coming up in the news.
In the future all channels will look like cnn headline news.
