Just watched this and umm...why on Earth are they making Tyra look more and more like a drag-queen each week?! Phew, glad to have that off my chest. Now on with the show.
I'm glad that Anchele and Melrose are still doing well...wish they'd be friends since I'm rooting for them both.
What an uncomfortable week of challenges...burlesque?! I'd think that's the LAST thing that they'd want to girls getting comfortable doing. Oh well, I guess it was supposed to be to teach them the difference between sexy and ho. Hmmm...Loved the b/w evil shots. Those were SO cool! I actually liked Jada's for once. That was a shocker. I'm so sick of hearing her whine about her hair that I was ready for her to leave, but wow! What a photo to add to her portfolio! I'm also not overly fond of Caridee (well, just don't think about her one way or the other normally), but loved her body language on the evil shot.
So, I'm ok with Brooke going home, as she does seem more pageanty than modelish, but I'm also ready for Eugena to go, then Jada. ;0)
P.S. I won't even go off about Ms. J this week...same comments as every other week.
Anyone else still watching?

I watch as I am falling asleep usually when my wife has it on. I managed to catch all of this weeks though. I agree teh girl was not "fierce" as Tyra says. I also though Tyra looked horrible. Of course, to me, most of the girls on this years show do not look that good. I never really like tyhe fierce model type, but this season especially seems worse.

ITA about the fierce thing. This year, none of them really stand out like in the past. Yohanna from a couple of years ago is a prime example. She really stood out from the beginning and was a face you expect to see. This year, they all kinda fade into the woodwork (ok, well Anchele stands out from the rest because of her exotic beauty, but I don't think they're going to let her make it to the end because she's not anorexic looking and doesn't have the confidence). It's like this year they were going more for the waif look than fierce.

Apparently everyone I like on here gets voted off:
Megan
A.J.
and now Brooke.
Personally, I think the twins are completely unattractive. And I can't figure out why Jada is still around - especially after having been in the bottom 2 a total of 3 times now. :(
(Thanks for starting the thread, katbug. I thought I was the only one watching this!)

lol, I was thinking the same thing (that I was the only one watching). Glad to see I'm not alone. ;0)
Yep, I liked Megan and AJ too (well, AJ's eye-rolling was starting to grate, but otherwise liked her). I thought Megan could take it all the way, but don't know what to expect now since so many of them are so boring.

I'm a Melrose fan, but she'll never win. Each week when she's given a role it's always the role of the old person. It's clear they think she looks to old to be modeling for them, so as long as she doesn't make any mistakes she'll be around until her aesthetics don't outdo the others.
Another thing about this show is that it appears as if they are carefully managing the makeup of the contestants. For instance Eugena is ugly and hasn't really had any good shots, yet she's still around. It's as if she's being protected.
Then there is the whole narcissistic mentality of Tyra and Jay. Every time one of the girls talks about a problem to Tyra we have to listen to how the same thing happened to her. Jay's whole attitude is wrong and doesn't take anyone else's situation into account when someone does something he doesn't like. For instance Melrose and the late to the shoot thing.
Finally every season it seems like the judges take some sort of evil pleasure in breaking the girls down. They always target a girly girl and cut all of her hair off, or they change the color to something unflattering. That whole makeover scene is nothing more than a hazing ritual designed to cut the girls that the judges don't like.
As for the contestants, they like to single out someone as a trouble maker and even manufacture one when there isn't one. Currently it's Melrose. She's asked them to be quiet so she could sleep and not taken any crap off of people that were frankly being selfish and bullying, so now she's the troublemaker.
I'm really surprised that some people would put themselves through this type of treatment on national television. If I were these girls I'd distance myself from Tyra and crew as soon as I could once the thing was over.

I agree about Melrose. They've labeled her the "old one" from day one, not to mention taking her responsibility out of context, and they keep saying "Yeah, she can shoot this kind of picture, but when are we going to see something different?" yet, they keep casting her photo shoots in those roles. So many of the shoots have had many varied roles that they could have put her in if they'd wanted to see if she could pull them off, yet they keep manipulating it so that she's only "old". Very frustrating!
I used to like Tyra, but she really is becoming more narcissistic each season. :0(

On "Talk Soup" the host pointed out how Anchal dressed up as Oprah and Stedman - and how Tyra asked Anchal how it felt to play Oprah - the host replied - "I don't know Trya -why don't YOU tell us how it feels to play Oprah!"
Tyra has become a caricature of herself.
I would like to see a shakeup on the panel next season - maybe bring in Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell (to keep Tyra in check).
As bad as its getting - I'll still watch (with my wife :) ) and it will never, ever, ever be as bad as Canada's Next Top Model!

I actually saw that episode of The Soup too...before I'd gotten to watch ANTM. It was a riot. I think it was something like "what it's like to be a strong, successful, independent woman", which is why it was so funny that Tyra was asking what it was like. Joel nailed her on that one. Teeheehee ;0)
The funny part of ANTM that week was when the impressive part was that Oprah could fly in doughnuts! ROFL, yep, that's what I'd want Oprah's power for! ;0)

"Oh no, you di'n't" roflmao! I don't know what the heck is going on with her lately...it's like at panel they are having a contest between Tyra and Ms. J to see who can look the worst. Ick!!
