There are several threads on this topic, so try a "search". But in a nutshell, DirecTV and Tivo have an agreement for next several years, so nothing will change with your DirecTV/Tivo service.

Also, DirecTV stills supports Ultimate TV (UTV).

I'm interested in buy a hd receiver with tivo now so that when i'm ready to go hd i'll have it. Can i start using it now even though i don't have hd yet?
