HR10-250 Startup Without Dish Hooked Up?

I want to use this unit for playback only in a remote location before selling. It is not hooked up to any satellite dish. I can not get past the inital setup screens to get to D* Central or the Now Playing List. Is there a workaround?

Yes, you can do that.

You need to go thru Guided Setup to the screen that says, one satellite connection, two satellite connections, or off-air antenna only. Choose the latter. Then it will stop trying to download info from the satellite.

Or just press the DirecTV button to skip searching for the satellite.
