Dual Tuner / Wireless Setup

I just purchased a S2 Dual Tuner Tivo today. I am trying to set it up with the Tivo brand wireless adapter. During setup it asks what connection type I want to use (ethernet, wireless USB adapter or phone line). When I choose Wireless USB adapter it tells me that my ethernet cable is unplugged. So I set up the unit using an ethernet cable and then tried to change the network settings. The unit will still not recognize the adapter.

I tried the adapter on my old Tivo and it worked fine. I called the Tivo helpline and they had me setting up static IP addresses and a bunch of other crazy stuff that wasn't required by my old Tivo. It didn't seem to make a difference.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Should I return the Tivo assuming that the USB ports are bad?

Do the adapter's LED's come on when it's plugged into the Tivo? Have you tried plugging it in to the other USB port?

I had somewhat different issues with my latest DT. I ended up using the wired connection until it got the latest update. Then it seemed to work fine. Guided setup with the TiVo adapter is definitely unstable.

I have tried both ports without any luck. The LED does come on.

I just updated the software to the newest version and it still doesn't work.
