if so, are there any issues?
Thanks!

Best asked in the Tivo Upgrade Center Forum here. Look for the HR10-250 Upgrade Thread. I'm not aware of any upgrade issues caused by 6.3a.

That's a great question. I certainly would not want to be the first.

I just put a Seagate 400GB drive into my HR10-250 with v6.3a everything went just fine. No problems at all.

I installed a 500GB drive in a friends HR10-250 with 6.3a last week with no problems. I do not know why you would think 6.3a would cause a problem.

I installed a Seagate 750GB drive by using the zipper on a PTVupgrade 3.5.1 image and then used add63.tcl to get the slices and then used slicer 1.3 with no problems.
Networking was maintained but I then ran the tweak_uninstall.sh command and then the tweak.sh command to get joe working. Lastly I used the 30 Sec Skip, decryption and enable backdoors hack. Everything has been running fine for about 4 weeks.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

I wonder if you could do two 750 gig drives. That should be close to 200 hours of HD and 1100 SD. :D

Take a look in the all new TC Store (link) (http://store.tivocommunity.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EA&Product_Code=22587&Category_Code=NEW) 2x750GB (1.5TB) 222hours (HD) / 1450hours (SD)

ps. You can buy the kit from the TC Store for $999 or $850 with the 15% off that ends Sunday.

I was planning on doing the 2x500gb upgrade route soon as well. The 750s are still overprice in my opinion.

I agree the 750's are priced too high. The best price I found for the db35 series 750gb was $429.00 and a 500gb was $221.00.
I could have a terabyte for a little over the cost of the 750gb.
Are you guys talking about the db35's?
Has anyone noticed real use problems such as temperature, noise and video stuttering with normal drives?
I succumbed to the advertising and bought the db35 series.
