A few months ago, I purchased 2 DVR's from best buy. After a week, I decided that I did not care for them at all, so I took them back to best buy for a refund. They gladly refunded my purchase, and I thought all was good. But now I get this message on my phone from DTV saying I need to return the equipment to them. I am aware of the new lease program they have going on, but trying to screw your customers out of money is a new thing. The DVR's were listed as lease receivers, and now they are trying to charge me $424 (200 each and tax) for not returning them. I called them and explained my situation, stating I paid $212 at best buy for them and wanted my money back, and they claim that you are out of luck when you puchase new equipment now. Even if you don't like the equipment, you have to return it to them, and you will be out whatever you paid the store for the equipment. Bottom line is, I will not pay them for this, and they are going to have a lot of upset customers and will likely lose customers as well if they try to keep this up. If I don't get credited the $424, they are gonna get phone calls from me till it goes away!!
