First PLEASE do not flame me lol.....

I have been searching for 3 days and for some reason I only get errors when searching these forums. I just have a few questions that I would be so VERY greatful to get answered if someone would like to take the time and help me with. These are all concerning a Hughes DTV DVR40.

1. Can this be hooked up to a pc to transfer my recordings for archiving to DVD? I mainly just need to find a simple tutorial on how to transfer to PC and I can do the rest.

2. what connection do you use? The USB ports?

3. Can this be done without actually hacking the Tivo?

Thanks in advance!!!

You need to read in the Underground

Since, the answer to your #3 is No, you must hack to connect

Without hacking the unit, it is the only option.

If you don't already have a "card" in your computer (I do, so have not used the product below, have only read user comments in an Adobe forum) these are supposed to work well, and don't require opening your computer case

I actually have a media center PC however I cant get it to work right with my Direct tv, so yes I have a card.

Thanks for all your help.... I just can't find a good step by step tutorial on hacking the dvr 40 so I am kinda shying away from hacking it.
