I had the cover off to my tivo for awhile. Well tonight I went to place the cover back on while the unit was still on the entertainment center. Well I guess the cover touched something sensitive inside. All I remember is a loud noise and a spark and a funny smell. Then the unit turned off.

After observing the circuit board? I can see where it fried. It is fried, well it just looks burnt there... on the inside by a red fuse next to where the power cord connects to.(i think that is what it is)

I have a pic if anyone wants to see. Anyway to fix this???

I didnt think it would hurt to place the cover on... I wasnt even forceing it on...

I found a place where you can get a new board.

So my question now is, do you think anything else is damaged besides the board that provides the power.

You never know what else might be fried.

Is this the high def DTivo (HR10-250)? If not, they I'd just buy a whole unit rather than try to fix anything. You can get an 80GB one for around $100 on ebay.
