Is there any way to stop DTV from adding channels to my channel list? I repeatedly find that the unit has opened PPV channels, as well as garbage stations like GEMS. I remove them from my channel list, but they reappear on a regular basis.

Nope.

Only thing you can do is change the Guide to "Favorites", then you won't notice them adding them.

We think that it is in the contract that these stations have with DirecTV to force them back into the guide. Afterall, they pay DirecTV to be carried instead of the other way around.
