Excuse my ignorance please. I've been searching these forums to figure out what to do next.

I have successfully (I think) done the INstant Cake and PTVnetHD upgrade on my HR10-250. It originally had 3.1.5e and now reads 3.1.5f so I know at least Instant Cake worked. I believe PTVnetHD is working too since I have lights on my USB200M first addition adapter and in the System information of my HR10 it says Backdoors opened (or something like that).

But now what do I do? I have downloaded putty for telnet. I see the DHCP address of my WGA54G bridge on the DHCP user list of my router. But if I try to telnet to the address its not working. I'm obviously doing things wrong. Can anybody help with what to do next? Is there a thread you could point me to that talks about how to use all of these cool things like TivoWebPlus?

Thanks so much! From a newbie.

I see the DHCP address of my WGA54G bridge on the DHCP user list of my router. But if I try to telnet to the address its not working.

Are you attempting to telnet to the ip address of the ethernet bridge or the actual tivo ip? Run angry ip scanner or another ip scanning utility and make sure you're actually trying to access the tivo. If you come up with a bash prompt, enter that ip address in your internet explorer, firefox, etc browser and tivoweb will appear. Use of tivoweb if almost self-explanatory.

That worked! Thanks!

Now I need to figure out how to do these two things:
1) Configure a static IP on my hr10
2) Make that work with the Linksys WGA54G

Google for netconfig.itcl. FTP netconfig (in binary mode) to the directory /ptvupgrade/tivowebplus/modules (this may be different, I'm just assuming since you used PTVNet, but regardless it will be a directory called tivowebplus/modules). Then open tivowebplus and click the restart button. Once TWP reloads, you'll have a button that says netconfig which will allow to configure static IP,DHCP, ip address, etc.

Did what you said but no button appears. I can confirm that the file is in the correct location through ftp.

Also, to what IP address do I set the LInksys WGA54G? Use DHCP? Use the same address as the Tivo?

Don't worry about what the ip address of the eth bridge is set to. First make sure you are transferring the file in "binary mode" via ftp. Then, at the bash prompt, make sure it's executable. Type chmod 755 /ptvupgrade/tivowebplus/modules/netconfig.itcl
Then restart twp and you should be ok. If not, check your pm.

You can also use this script (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=258516) even if you are not using wireless - just follow the first three steps. Unlike the netconfig module, it handles the enabling/disabling of dhclient if you choose static.

Is anybody using the Linksys WGA54AG wireless gaming bridge? For the life of me I can't get this thing to connect to my Linksys router. I have wireless cameras, laptops, network hard drive etc. connect so I know how to configure my WEP, MAC addresses etc. It won't connect to matter what I try. Anybody have experience with one?
